We deleted all the user profiles to let them reload and that did not resolve the problem. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it. Sometimes up to 3 or 4 reboots are required before the host starts taking connections normally again. I created a new admin account, and that new admin account can't even log onto this Windows Server 2008 R2 running Exchange 2010. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly.
It was the first to use the new profile, Win7 just continues and increases it's use. It seems like only the logons are failing. Delete the profile by using the Computer Properties dialog box. Look for any warnings or errors in your Event Log. Mine happened to be because Exchange did not apply permission properly but it could very well have been something else.

You can safely copy the Default folder from another server. We have this problem occaisionaly and deleting that resolves it. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. I just had this problem with a few Windows 2008 Servers. Option 2 Note: Recreate the machines for this workaround. I am having the same problem.

When compared to a working server, we noticed that the default profile existed on the working server. Can I change the key's permissions before the user tries to log on? To resolve a failed session host a simple server reboot of the effected host is required.
