Do not allow oil to squirt or spray. Loosen hydraulic connections very slowly to allow the oil pressure to dissipate gradually. Note: Do not operate any machine function during the 10 second waiting time. Do not leave the counterweight suspended above the ground. Repeat steps 3 through 7.
A single battery configuraton is standard. Maintain completed forms for a minimum of four years or in compliance with employer, jobsite and governmental regulations and requirements. The platform mounting weldment could become unbalanced and fall if not properly supported when removed from the machine. See Section 4-4, How to Remove the Boom Extension Cylinder. Failure to perform the maintenance procedures can lead to poor engine performance and component damage.
Use this form to record the results. Turn the high idle adjustment nut and solenoid boot counterclockwise to increase the rpm or clockwise to decrease the rpm. Slowly loosen the load spring adjustment nut in a counterclockwise direction in 10° increments until the overload indicator light flashes at both the platform and ground controls, and the alarm sounds. See E-1, Test or Replace the Hydraulic Oil. Refer to Section 2, Specifications. This procedure requires specific repair skills, lifting equipment and a suitable workshop. Refer to Repair Procedure 10-1, How to Adjust the Turntable Rotation Gear Backlash.
Result: The descent alarm should sound when the controller is held down. Result: The engine should change to low idle. Release the drive controller when your reference point on the machine crosses the test line. Bolt torque sequence 3 Start the machine from the ground controls and raise the boom to full height. The inspection is designed to discover if anything is apparently wrong with a machine before it is put into service. Note: A spreader bar and other hardware may be needed to safely remove the counterweight. Free-breathing fuel and hydraulic tank caps are essential for good machine performance and service life.
If a new rotator is installed or the rotator is disassembled, proper alignment can be achieved by rotating the rotator all the way to the left and then installing the platform mounting weldment all the way in the left position. Failure to install the fastener into the engine tray anchor hole to secure the engine tray from moving could result in death or serious injury. The turntable rotate drive hub assembly could become unbalanced and fall if not properly supported by the lifting device. Failure to install the fastener into the engine tray anchor hole to secure the engine tray from moving could result in death or serious injury. Start the machine and return to the stowed position. Calibrate the platform overload system. Note: Before lowering the extension cylinder into the saddles of the number 1 boom tube, wrap the boom retract cables around the pulleys.
System if equipped Genie specifications require that this procedure be performed every 500 hours or six months. Refer to Section 2, Specifications. Note: Perform this procedure with the engine off. This procedure requires specific repair skills, lifting equipment and a suitable workshop. Note: The free-wheel valve is located on the bottom of the drive pump, and should always remain closed. Hoses and cables can be damaged if they are kinked or pinched. Beacons are installed on both turntable covers.
Consult the Genie Service Department before use. Extreme operating temperatures my require the use of alternative engine oils. If thickness is more than minimum specification, perform the following procedure. Refer to Section 2, Performance Specifications. Make copies of the Maintenance Inspection Report to use for each inspection. Turntable rotate drive hub: Single fill port rotator: 1 Remove the plug located on the top of the hub and check the oil level. Extremely dirty conditions may require that the filters be replaced more often.
Be sure to wear protective eye wear and other protective clothing if the situation warrants it. Your garage door may be disconnected from the opener. Swing the engine tray out away from the machine. Immediately tighten the drain plug. Start the engine and level the platform. Improper bolt torque could result in an unsafe operating condition and component damage.
